How does gifting work?: You choose a gift from a business on Treat, purchase it in the Treat app, and send it to someone. They receive a link, claim the gift, and redeem it when they visit the business.
How does a recipient claim a gift?: The recipient opens the gift link, downloads or opens the Treat app, and claims the gift with a Rwanda phone number. Treat sends a verification code on WhatsApp. After verification, the gift is attached to their account and a claim QR code is shown.
How does phone-number claiming work?: Gifts are claimed with a Rwanda mobile number (MTN, Airtel, or Tigo). Treat sends a one-time code on WhatsApp. There is no SMS code for claiming. Once verified, only that profile can present the gift for redemption.
